Kulin Bush Races
Our Committee
Who are We?
The Kulin Bush Races committee comprises a broad cross section of the Kulin community including farmers, teachers, bankers, clerical staff and business owners. The committee coordinates the entire Bush Races event in a volunteer capacity with the assistance of over 250 volunteers from Kulin and beyond.
Some of the skill set include: construction, electrical, plumbing, architecture, banking, design, catering, clerical, accountancy IT and heavy machinery drivers. The valuable skills combined with volunteers donating their time and often the generous use of machinery and equipment has proved to be the catalyst for the success of the event.

Former CHAIRPERSON
Graeme Robertson (1995-2019)
Graeme Robertson was the inaugural Chairperson of Kulin Bush Races since inception in 1995. Graeme was one of the key drivers and despite lack of funds, he proceeded with the very first event and encouraged the community to participate. Read more
Graeme has provided exemplary and proactive leadership to the Kulin Bush Races, always leading by example. He continues to work hard for the cause, which takes up many hours of his personal time. He does this while working as an integral part of his own family farming business. Through his dedication, Graeme is an inspiration to the Kulin Bush Races committee and community of Kulin.
Graeme is constantly working to make Kulin a great place to live and he has stuck by his original ethos of ‘putting Kulin on the map’. He has certainly achieved that, with Kulin now being one of the most desired Tourist destinations in Southern Western Australia. Under Graeme’s direction, Kulin Bush Races has been financially successful and provided much needed funds to benefit the Kulin community. We thank him for his commitment to Kulin Bush Races.
Following twenty five years of dedicated service to Kulin Bush Races, Graeme Robertson was awarded Life Membership in 2019.
KULIN BUSH RACES CHAIRPERSON
Tom Murphy (2019- present)
Graeme Robertson has been succeeded by incoming Chairperson, Tom Murphy. Tom’s first year in the chair of Kulin Bush Races has proved to be difficult with the Covid-19 pandemic forcing the event to be cancelled. Tom and the Kulin Bush Races committee look forward to hosting future events.
