Camping Zones and bays

Camping is restricted to the designated camping zones as indicated on the site map.

Bays are marked by rip lines on the ground. Keep your camp within the bays. Tracks, pathways, areas around or under lighting towers, toilets and horse yards are no camping zones to ensure safety and emergency access. We request visitors keep access ways clear at all times for emergency and service vehicles. A speed limit of 8km/hr applies to the entire camping zone.

The zones

The tent-only zone is intended to increase capacity for tents and safety of campers, especially children. Swaggers will be directed to the middle of the track to a Swag-Only zone away from fireworks and vehicles.

Camp Hart camping area is restricted to members of the Australian Defence Force and their families and friends.

Horses and their owners camp near the trees at the start and also along the straight of the track.

What to bring

Food and drink is available from Friday 3pm through to the Aussie Revival Breakfast early on Sunday morning. The onsite food is a five minute brisk walk from most camping areas. You will need to self-cater outside these times. The nights can be cold so bring some warm clothes. If you are keen to explore the surrounds, bring good walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen and personal insect repellent. You may also want to bring a camping chair to relax on while viewing the races.

Toilets, showers and drinking water

Hot showers and toilet facilities are located throughout the site. Water supplies are very limited and are transported by truck to the site. We request showers are kept to a minimum, but please full flush toilets to keep sewage lines clear. Drinking water is available at locations indicated on the map. Please use sparingly. Water cannot be used for washing cars and caravans. There are no laundry facilities at the Bush Races camp site.

Medical facilities

Kulin Bush Races endeavours to keep the event as safe as possible. In case of any emergencies, Kulin St John Ambulance and at least two other ambulances from surrounding towns are on call throughout the event. There is a well-equipped medical centre on the southern side of the marquee and bank, where volunteer ambulance officers are available.

A doctor will be available onsite during the races.

RV septic waste

Patrons who have self- contained vans are encouraged to use the RV dump located at the public toilets in the centre of Kulin. The RV dump point is located in Kulin on Johnston Street near the public toilets. It is recommended the Kulin RV dump point is used prior to heading to the Kulin Bush Races site.
